The number of scam cases has been increasing rapidly and this can be very alarming. You may have been one of the victims of a con artist. If not, then beware for you might be the next prey. Con artists make a living through deceiving people. They can be considered as people who have no conscience.

You will never suspect a person as being a con artist. They are very good at disguising themselves and they may be just like the one walking beside you on your way home yesterday. Yes, con artists will look like just anyone who they want to be like. If he needs to appear like a professional debt settlement agent, then he can wear a snappy suit and you will never suspect. So how do con artists work?

Con artists work on every possible weakness that they may exploit in their victims. Of course, they will lie and fool whoever their target is. The most likely persons who fall prey to these deceptive people are those who are ignorant or those who show clear weaknesses. These criminals are very persistent and will do anything just to squeeze out money from you.

However, depending on your awareness you can still suspect if a person is a con artist. They often give offers that are too good to be true, so beware with these kinds of offer. Never be intimidated by people and if you suspect something fishy about their offer turn it down immediately. Remember, if in doubt just go away.

A Kleptomaniac Just Stole Your Pen

So what if you keep on losing your pen – it is just a pen anyway. Are you constantly losing your pen or any valuables in your office or in your home? You are probably thinking that you just frequently forget where you put your things. Maybe you are not just organized about your stuff. Or, maybe there is a kleptomaniac lurking around your office or in your home stealing everyone’s stuff.

A kleptomaniac is a person with a disorder described by recurrent stealing of things. This person may or may not be aware of committing a crime. A person with this behavioral disorder just cannot resist the temptation to steal things. Similar to con artists, you cannot easily suspect a person with this disorder until you start to lose some of your stuff.

There are no known causes of kleptomania but it was said that the disorder may have a genetic component to first-degree relatives. Kleptomaniacs usually steal things that have no real value to them. The things or stuff they steal may not be even useful to them. They just feel satisfaction, pleasure or relief upon committing theft. Tension builds up just before they commit the crime.

Kleptomania is a disorder that a person having the condition needs to undergo extensive impulse control therapy. The problem however, is that people with this kind of disease do not seek medical help. If it happens you find someone you know having this disorder, you need to understand them. The best thing to do is to convince them to seek professional help.
